Bio eStart Solo for single engine boats
Marine Biometrics manufacturer, FinScan, today released thier newest product , the Bio eStart Solo for single diesel or gasoline engine boats. The Bio eStart Solo was developed to bring a cost effective Fingerprint engine starting solution to boats under 28 ft.
Using the same proven technology as the Bio eStart Duo, optional features have been added to the Solo to make the boating experience easier, and safer for under 28ft boats. To start the engine of a boat fitted with the Bio eStart Solo, a programmed finger is simply presented to the fingerprint sensor for matching, then a press of the green START button will start the engine. When the stop button is pressed, the engine will be shutdown and the system armed, all without the worry of keys left in an ignition.
In addition, FinScan have added a new feature to the Bio eStart Solo , called ESM mode ( Elevated Safety Mode ). The majority of boats under 28ft use gasoline engines that have the potential of causing an explosion if vapours build up or a fuel leak occurs. FinScan's ESM mode takes advantage of the electronic control FinScan has over engine starting, the boats blower, and utilising the integrated FinScan gasoline Fume / Vapour detector to deliver the safest, centralised engine starting process available. This combination greatly reduces the chance of explosions due to gasoline vapour build up in enclosed engine spaces. The Bio eStart Solo with ESM becomes a critical safety device by disabling engine starting if dangerous conditions occur, and will take action automatically to remove the vapour threat from the boat.
The Bio eStart Solo with ESM is available now, and already used as standard equipment on the just released Mustang 2850 sports cruiser.
