FinScan’s Digital Switching powers the OBX Boatworks Sportfisher’s

FinScan are pleased to announce a close OEM partnership with US boat builder OBX Boatworks. The OBX Boatworks range will all be using FinScan’s Digital Switching technology, IntelliCORE, as a standard feature. FinScan and OBX Boatworks have been working very closely to complete a major design of Intelligent AC / DC power and security systems for a new range of offshore Sport fishing boats, the first to be released at the 2011 Ft Lauderdale boat show.
OBX Boatworks, based in North Carolina, create an exciting line up of family fishing boats that are built tough for offshore conditions, with tradition and technology at its best. OBX Boatworks will be launching the first of 6 models, a 32 Express at the 2011 Ft Lauderdale boat show. These will be swiftly followed by the 29 and 37 Express models at the start of 2012. The 32 Express will feature FinScan’s Distributed AC / DC power systems, full security package including a six zone alarm system tightly integrated with SMS / MMS monitoring and control, Fingerprint cabin access with FinScan’s TouchLOK and Fingerprint engine starting using the Bio eStart keyless ignition system. All systems are integrated and controlled from a 10” and 4.3” touchscreen.

Drawing on decades of automation and security experience, FinScan delivers a kitted, plug and play system that is pre configured, and easily installed by the boat builder” said FinScan Director Simon Matthews.
IntelliCORE is designed for easy installation, it reduces labour and material cost, and reduces build time due to it's unique modular structure, and IntelliBUS technology linking all the components with one communication cable to the touch screens. Space saving is also achieved by doing away with AC / DC switchboards, and utilising FinScan’s touch screen switching approach. With no need to access the AC or DC power distribution modules, they can be placed in accessible plant rooms and cavities that would otherwise be wasted space.
The FinScan IntelliCORE range of products will all be on display during the IBEX 2011 show, on FinScan stand 1141. The OBX Boatworks 32 Express, featuring all FinScan Power and Security products will be on display at the 2011 Ft Lauderdale International boat show, on C dock 324.
